Horrifyingly awful!! Will never stay here again. The front desk was completely incompetent. Had no idea what he was doing. The only upside is the hotel next door was made to look like a Hilton in comparison.
The next morning we were awoken by housekeeping looking to clean the room. It wouldn't have been so bad but it was BEFORE 9am. There were no tags to place on the door handle to state we do not require housekeeping. We then encountered the same thing the following day before we were about to leave and head home. We didn't know the check out time was this early???
We got there quite late in the evening and decided we were both tired and wanted to just watch some TV and go to sleep. We got into the room and got ready to watch TV. I tried to turn the tv on and there was a blank screen. I tried unplugging the HDMI cords and tried resetting the cable box and nothing worked. We went to the front desk and explained it was not working -- Here is where things go downhill. The front desk clerk told us that we needed to find the person who was at the desk before because he had no idea what was going on. Now, I understand that he probably just started his shift but that is not the answer we were expecting from a customer service representative. Very poor!
All in all this hotel is barely worth the 1 star from me just because of the horrendous customer service. The bar staff were very nice, friendly and would be the only reason we would go back... never to stay the night. The Hotel across the street may be a little more money but its worth every penny!
There are also so many violations in this hotel its unbelievable.
This location is undergoing remodeling. The front desk had been moved to a guest room with a temporary second computer down the hall. Our room had a nice brand new bathtub and toilet with adjustable water-saving flush system. Could not get the wifi to work. Loved the line of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soaps. Rooms were quiet other than a barking dog in the next room; I didn't hear any human noises from the hallways, through the walls, or overhead, so that was nice, especially considering we were just a few doors down from the makeshift check-in desk. Nice refrigerator in the room. No ice bucket, cups buy the sink, or in-room coffee service, but there was coffee and cups out in the temporary lobby. We will likely stay again, as most of the issues will be better once the remodeling is finished.
Worst place I have ever stayed. No fridge no microwave. Rude desk attedants. The place was dirty and smelled like marijuana down every hall. My husband myself and 2 toddler children went down for the advertised continental breakfast at 9 AM and they said it was already cleaned up and put away! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!!!! The best part was the beds. They were very comfortable.
Nice clean hotel...Front Staff were great. All you need, is in walking distance. We'll be back again
After being told this we decided that, what the h*ll we are on vacation lets just go and have a beer in the lobby bar. This was a pleasant experience until we realized we were drinking expired beer!! This wasn't that big of a deal but still... If we were the type of people to create a huge fuss it could have been a much bigger problem.
At first it didn't seem that bad of a hotel. A little dated, but we didn't plan on spending much time in the room anyways.
When it came to sleeping the bed was actually very comfortable and the sheets were soft, however, I am curious as to whether they were cleaned? The only very bad thing was the constant banging and running of dryers and washing machines in the next room - turns out we were right next to the laundry room and the stairs and across from the bar!
My husband and I decided that we would head to Fargo for a long weekend to celebrate my Birthday. Usually we stay elsewhere but this time we decided to stay at The Red Lion Inn and Suites. NEVER AGAIN!
