The other room our group booked had unmade beds, garbage in the garbage bin, and the smoke detector was hanging on by a wire. their next room was moderately better than this. The next morning, we attempted continental breakfast, but the fridge (normally filled with milk and yogurt) was empty, and the waffle mix had gone sour.
rm 103 - dirt clogged ac, shower rod broken, torn shower curtain, holes in wall where pictures were removed, headboards are flopping all over, bathroom tap constantly drips, carpet pulled from wall, early morning check in gal very nice, afternoon girl couldn't care less attitude. Room 100 was nicer BUT TV was extremely snowy & front desk afternoon girl said, it's old. I had to ask for a new room and 103 was the result. Too tired to fight today.
The first room they gave us had an unmade bed. The second room stunk and had someone else's hair on the wall of the shower. The smoke alarm was hanging from the ceiling. The hotel was loud all night. When my wife grabbed a towel after her shower.....its was smeared with old dried toothpaste. The hotel clerk when we checked in was unfazed by any of this. The morning clerk I complained again to told me "yeah the other Econo Lodge is going downhill, too." Awful stay. I have a couple photos I wish I could post here.
Visiting family, decent rooms, breakfast was average for a hotel. Good price for what they offered.
I know this is a budget hotel, but you should still be able to expect a clean and safe room.
We stayed here when the Econolodge West overbooked their hotel. Our room smelled like urine, was missing the peephole (making it just an open hole in the door), had food left in the fridge from the previous guests, and had a broken latch on the door. We asked to change rooms. our new room reeked of smoke and had a stain on the comforter, but we considered this an upgrade.
It's budget hotel. Bed was clean, matress comfortable, pillows lumpy. Room had an off smell and some surfaces ( table, lamp, bathroom floor) felt tacky to the touch. Might have been from the cleaner used. No bugs! Friendly staff. Low on breakfast items on Monday morning by 7 am. Then again, you get what you pay for. Overall good for the price.
