Service was very mannered and respectful.
I went with two coworkers and we each got a different entree: Jerk Chicken, Curry Chicken, and Jerk Ribs (pictures of each uploaded). All three were just incredible but I personally liked the ribs most. As for sides, you really can't go wrong. Collard greens, Mac n cheese, plantains, peas and rice... Mmmmm!
This is probably the most satisfying food I have had in Fargo! The staff here is very friendly, the interior is unique and appropriate for the cuisine, and the food is just top tier. Fargo has desperately needed southern soul food, and Daran's certainly fills that gap.
You just gotta come check this place out!
I had the fried catfish with sweet corn and mac and cheese, I couldn't finish the plate but enjoyed every bite. The food came out so hot I had to pace myself from stuffing all the delicious food in my face at once. My wife got the canned yams which had a hint of lime to it which made it a very sweet and slightly bitter side dish, I liked this as well.
If you are a texture eater and struggle to find good textures in Fargo...come here! The presentation, temperature, and taste were all on point. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were fair. I strongly recommend coming here. The best food in Fargo. Your taste buds and tummy will ascend to heaven because of the fabulous soul food at Daran's Southern Soul Food of Fargo!
Thus far I've had the bbq chicken, and the curry chicken all of which was delicious! However, at the times I have gone (lunch time) there were only a few menu options to chose from, 3 entrees and 3 sides. This makes sense since it's a newer restaurant so maybe they're low on staff, but it would be nice to order whatever I wanted from the menu that they have up on their website. Overall, great restaurant (in Fargo) for soul food!!
YUM! I'm always hesitant to try other people's collard greens and mac and cheese- but I'm so glad I gave this place a try. It was like being at my grandma's for Thanksgiving, absolutely perfect. I got the plain fired wings, too, and they were also good. Not a ridiculous amount of breading and well seasoned. Note: I think the meals available change daily (?), but it is within the menu on their website. I will definitely be back to try their catfish!
